Personality - 2005
Metal, aluminum bars, stainless steel disc, satellite dish motor, solenoids, motion sensors, microprocessor
An interactive kinetic/sound installation built for my thesis performance at Mills College.
A fifteen foot aluminium blade spins atop a tapered structure. The blade stops when a person approaches.
Sensors in the space feed data to a microprocessor which generates trigger pulses and creates semi-random sequences of sounds
once a person has come close. This was my first foray into installation art and interactive sculpture.
